[13:29]<+camerongray> Oh well :P
[13:42]<Jamer> Lol
[13:42]<Jamer> So I know my christmas present
[13:42]<@BC_Programming> good for you
[13:50]<+camerongray> I don't even know what I want :P
[14:28]<Craig-Work> Hey Guys,
[14:28]<Craig-Work> how is it going?
[14:36]<+camerongray> Good thanks
[14:36]<+camerongray> Revising like mad :P
[14:39]<Jamer> So i might get a ps vita
[14:48]<+camerongray> Cool
[14:50]<+camerongray> I'm not even thinking of Christmas until after exams :P
[15:16]<Craig-Work> Uh oh, DB is online...
[15:16]<@BC_Programming> uh OK...
[15:16]<Craig-Work> I am in CH. :P
[15:16]<Craig-Work> thats all
[15:17]<@BC_Programming> there, now All configs are stored in the database
[15:18]<Craig-Work> Nice work,
[15:18]<Craig-Work> whats it for?
[15:18]<@BC_Programming> everything
[15:18]<Craig-Work> hahahah ok
[15:38]<@BC_Programming> Orders 3 SATA cables from TigerDirect, though I'll probably just end up going somewhere to buy some on thursday

[17:27]<Craig-Work> Yeah I no longer want to help over in CH chat... Their belief systems are really screwed up...
[17:30]<@BC_Programming> what happened, Tell uncle BC
[17:30]<@BC_Programming> heh
[17:30]<@BC_Programming> let's ignore the fact that you are older than me for now
[17:35]<+camerongray> Lol
[17:39]<Craig-Work> Hahahahaa
[17:40]<Craig-Work> DB believes that the Drivers provided from Manufacturers are tested by the distributors, like Dell and ASUS, even though 90% of them are just repackaged with the proprietary designes and styles... :S
[17:44]<+camerongray> Yeah, you just need to ignore it
[17:44]<+camerongray> Like right now I'm trying to convince someone that the 4 year old "gaming" laptop they found is not worth $600
[17:45]<+camerongray> They can't comprehend the ones I'm finding with APUs that cost less and are new are actually better
[18:02]<Craig-Work> :P But APU's by AMD or Intel?
[18:02]<Craig-Work> Since there is a difference depending on the architecture, and the games.
[18:03]<+camerongray> It's only AMD that call them APUs :P
[18:04]<+camerongray> Their iGPUs are a bit better than the Intel HD still
[18:07]<Craig-Work> The intel 4600 are actually getting pretty good.
[18:07]<Craig-Work> For example, my Intel 4000 plays some games quite well.
[18:07]<Craig-Work> Not the most powerful beast with an i3, but its not too shabby either.
[18:08]<@BC_Programming> SVN has decided to forget how spaces work in filenames
[18:09]<+camerongray> Yeah, the new Intel HD chips are really good, just not as high as the APUs yet
[18:09]<+camerongray> Or, the high end APUs
[18:09]<+camerongray> My laptop has Intel HD 4400 :P
[18:11]<@BC_Programming> Intel 4 Express in my laptop
[18:11]<@BC_Programming> no driver available for windows 8. Which is weird because I did have one installed previously, oh well
[18:11]<@BC_Programming> haha just noticed, the WD drive came with a sticker
[18:12]<Craig-Work> Nice :P
[18:12] * Zuwer (Mibbit@mib-9196E61D.jetstream.xtra.co.nz) has joined #glitchpc
[18:13]<@BC_Programming> 7 stickers on the front my my computer now, haha
[18:14]<+camerongray> lol
[18:15] * NotNat (nat@mib-921C62AC.socal.res.rr.com) has joined #glitchpc
[18:15]<@BC_Programming> I don't like when SVN decides not to show the icons
[18:15] * Nat (nat@mib-921C62AC.socal.res.rr.com) Quit (Ping timeout)
[19:06]<Craig> Man am I ever tired...
[19:06]<Craig> Hahah Nice about the stickers BC,. :P
[19:06]<Craig> My servers don't like things covering the vents. :S
[19:06]<@BC_Programming> they aren't on any vents
[19:07]<@BC_Programming> Also I've been working 13 hours now, it's a race
[19:07]<Craig> Hahaha a race with whom?
[19:07]<@BC_Programming> nobody, just have to recompile every single application and make sure my re-written config stuff is compatible
[19:08]<@BC_Programming> If the new configs and datasets work, that puts me ahead of schedule since that was originally slated for the end of the month, then I can move forward with Making the Update Lister store the actual installers as a BLOB in the database to get rid of our massive problems with UAC
[19:09]<Craig> Hahahaha Nice
[19:10]<@BC_Programming> so far I've had to change very little which is pretty cool given the new Config stuff is completely different from before
[19:11]<Craig> Awesome
[19:11]<Craig> That is the showing of a great programmer. :)
[19:12]<@BC_Programming> well let's hope we get all this done by April...
[19:14]<Craig> Why do you say that? It sounds like your doing well?
[19:14]<Craig> Is there a lot that I am missing? :P
[19:14]<@BC_Programming> no if this stuff isn't done by April the company is screwed
[19:15]<@BC_Programming> eg. lose some of our biggest clients, and if it's not done the salespeople won't have anything to push for new ones either
[19:16]<@BC_Programming> It's April because that's when the Marina busy season starts, and is essentially the cut-off for when they would be able to completely move over from the THEOS system which has been causing them constant hangs and crashes
[19:17]<@BC_Programming> WE're working on some stopgaps that should let them keep using the THEOS back-end, it will still crash but it will be restarted automatically and silently, though that's sort of a plan B
[19:25] * NotNat (nat@mib-921C62AC.socal.res.rr.com) Quit (Quit: zzzZZZzzzZZzzZZZzz)
[19:27]<+camerongray> What sort of hardware does THEOS run on?
[19:27]<@BC_Programming> normal PCs
[19:28]<+camerongray> Ahh nice, I always thought it was big mainframes :P
[19:28]<@BC_Programming> but it's hardware support sucks. No support for SATA, and it's limited to 4GB of RAM
[19:28]<@BC_Programming> And best of all it needs a Hardware USB device as a "anti-piracy" thing
[19:28]<+camerongray> Ahh :P
[19:29]<@BC_Programming> which is great because it makes installing them to Virtual Machines a pain in the butt
[19:29]<+camerongray> I see why you are replacing that then :P
[19:29]<+camerongray> Replacing with Windows?
[19:29]<@BC_Programming> well the main reason is because it was literally crashing every single day with some clients
[19:30]<@BC_Programming> Yeah moving to Windows, Postgres for the database... of course the main thing is that all the original software was written for THEOS in THEOS Basic, so essentially everything needs to be rewritten
[19:31]<+camerongray> Yeah
[19:32]<+camerongray> Your next task should be to rebuild their website :P
[19:32] * Nat (nat@mib-921C62AC.socal.res.rr.com) has joined #glitchpc
[19:32]<@BC_Programming> that's a very low priority methinks
[19:33]<@BC_Programming> there are already enough inquiries the sales staff can't keep up
[19:33]<@BC_Programming> which is why I don't get how they figure we're boned if we lose our biggest clients... oh well
[19:34]<@BC_Programming> Motorcycle management software? wtf
[20:05]<+camerongray> lol
[20:17]<Craig> hahahaha
[20:44]<Craig> Hey BC, have you killed the Inactive Robot yet?
[20:51]<@BC_Programming> yes
[21:36]<Craig> Dang, how do I fall so far behind :P
